Inspired by a drunken conversation whilst on holiday, another great "get your post count up" thread: If you could have only 5 CDs, what would they be ? (retail, not your own compilations). Mine: 1) Radiohead : OK Computer 2) Temple of the Dog : Temple of the Dog 3) Lou Reed : Transformer 4) Eagles : Best of 5) Marillion : The Thieving Magpie (a kinda "best of" live) |

Great thread Deep Purple - Made In Japan I love the Mark II albums, and this has a reasonable selection of their best stuff (up to 1972, and up to 2003 ), but the performances are just fantastic Best live album ever. Led Zeppelin I Not their best album, but the one I listen to most, and almost as varied as their entire output Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here A close one between this, Dark Side and Pulse, but I just love Shine On too much Dire Straits - Alchemy Almost all of their very best stuff, without a bad track, and recorded at their peak Some great solos. Dream Theater - Live Scenes From New York An excellent group of very talented musicians, and this is three hours of a fair amount of their best stuff but with great performances and a nice atmosphere That's not changed for some time, and won't for some time either I could listen to them endlessly happy that I was listening to 1% of the best music ever, but that's fine for me |
