Same problem on Freeserve Anytime on all four numbers, also BT PAYG which I got a half-decent ping on, but still 80+% packet loss

Unoffically, I hear there is a multiple fibre fault causing a slowdown.
Don't know if its part of the Energis or BT network but it's being worked on and should be corrected by later tonight.

Not me then (and i have reason for saying that).

MY computer has had LOADS of problems recently of connecting to the net but not finding any websites (and around 500 in the received column)

I suspected a DNS prob as it would only rectify if i rebooted and dialed again.

I really need to reinstall the os (any reccomendations) as i have W95 with a 98 install over it. Not the most safe of installs.

But W98 supports all my bits and also all my apps (need high app support coz of uni and the apps i ned for that).

I was gonna get W2k but never did, but am a bit unsure if it will support everything i need it to.
