Not had a good decent movie discussion in a while, I have got to see on Sunday, Kill Bill Vol2 - yeah Van Helsing - my mate has seen it, reckons its bobbins Day After Tomorow - not out for a week yet, but already slated as a cheesy film like ID Anything else worth seeing at the mo? |

Lost in Translation - you'll either love it or be bored by it. I still love it. It helps that Bill Murray is a comedy god of course. Dawn of the Dead (2002) - manic opening 10 minutes moving on to a sedate pace until the last 20 minutes. Entertaining if you like horror though non-horror fans probably wont enjoy it. Oh - and the chainsaw - ouch! Sean of the Dead - humourous in places but not the all-laughs comedy some people have made out. I enjoyed it less than I thought I would and consequently was a little disappointed. Kill Bill vol 2 wasn't all that great though had a good few choice moments but meandered a fair bit. The decelleration of pace from vol 1 akin to hitting the water pool after being rocket fired down a railway track at 600mph. Van Helsing sucked. Being mildly tipsy and a popcorn fight made the first half enjoyable. Then we ran out of popcorn and sobered up. Yawn-fest and where the hell was the plot? Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was excellent. Quite enjoyed that though it'll split audiences worse than Lost in Translation. It's a drama not comedy as some of the trailers have tried to make out. Looking forward to The Day After Tomorrow - there's always a place for the brain-dead action adventure / disaster movie |
