Post subject: | Buying a new system |
All this talk about CS:S and Doom 3 has, I think convinced me to bite the bullet and buy a new box, or seriously look at buying one in the very near future if the job becomes permanent. Wheres the best place to buy ? I can fit parts etc and have very limited knowledge of PC's but am thinking of getting a prebuilt box as it would be less hassle. I was looking at this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/ ... stems.html, EDIT: Bugger, just links to frontpage, look at full systems and look for Titan Pentium IV 'Prescott' 3.0GHz. Heard a lot about this hyper threading malarkey but am none the wiser as to what it is. Is this a decent price for a system of his quality? What I need: * Future proof for a good while. * Able to play latest games at a good whack - obviously * Needs to be well cooled as my room get's exceptionally hot and one old PC has already gone kaput because of it. * Potentially going to use it for music usage too, so a decent soundcard would be good from the off, but I will probably upgrade this to a Terratec DM6 anyways Also looking at this site www.ginger6.co.uk as they seem quite cheap too. Cheers for any help. |

Them case fans are gonna scream. I bet it will sound like a huey taking off when you boot your pc up. Also you got shafted big time on the hard drive you bought. You can pick up a 200 gig one for around £70, why limit yourself to a measly 40? |

Thank you, I now have to try and avoid buying if I want to save my cash atm. (Assuming it will work with my PC-2100 memory though....) |
