Its just a bit over your price range but Its playing source, hl2 and farcry without problems, although ive yet to find some driver updates as ati dont do mobility ones and the ones supplied with the laptop arent the newest.

Sorry AG - never had that problem. I used the driver cleaner from driver heaven and uninstalled all the old crap from ATI. Removed the control panel and installed the Omegas. Its always worked NP for me.

Sub pointed me to that for the uninstall, dont worry it was on dimmys advice that i used the, well before you posted.
On another note i redownloaded them and used DC pro to clean out the old ones, working fine now

argh, my laptop is playing up, it keeps turning off suddenly when im plahing games, even on non intense games such as the original hl. Its an siemen/fujitsu amilo A1630
Ive changed a few battery settings, but i wouldnt have thought that this would casue a change like this.
Could it be over heating, if so why has this only started now and what can i do to stop it.

just read on the net that it may be caused by omega drivers, god knows why, im assuming that they may be pushing the card to hard.
Could this be the case?

I had this problem on my lappy, how long have you had it?
i found that using a house fan blowing at the back helped a lot, then when that stopped working, i removed the cover to the fan and my god, there must have been an inch of dust covering the provcessor!

take the bottom off and give it a good hoovering - it sorted mine out!
