Post subject: | Software VPN? Possible? |
Want to be able to connect to drives at home if possible, without having to muck around with remote desktop. The router I have doesnt support hardware vpn, wondering if there is a software version I could use. The pc I am connecting to is running xp mce. I think I could do it if I was running a server platform, 2000 or 2003 server, but seems a bit overkill, and I have the pc running just right at the minute. Any ideas? |

get a router that supports VPN is there not a second hand vigor lying around you can do it in XP Pro but doubt mce will have this ability else if you just want access to data you could always just use an FTP server. I have one here if you want it. |

Im running an ftp server, but its a PITA, I want to just be able to map a drive. The bigors are all adsl, I need the wan variant. Suppose I could jury rig one behind my current router, then point all vpn traffic at it to authenticate. Might give it a whizz. XP MCE is a home variant I think, it wont let me join a domain with it. |
