slightly off on a tangent Bob, but I can feel your woe. I just bought a stupidly expensive HP lappy and after 2 weeks got a SMART failure on the disk, with it being 30 degrees over its max operating temp.. Check the temps and see that it's running at around 80 degrees at idle, due to a graphics card that runs at 95! Called HP to ask what the heck was going on, and they will only send me a new hard drive to bake. Bought it 2 weeks ago, right to return = ZERO in Australia.... Bugger. |
