Just realised - we don't actually have to use quakenet...

We could use DALnet instead, looking into it they have some pretty decent options like nick registration, and they seem to provide channel bots as well.

What do you lot think? I'm sitting in #dvf at the mo, and it's very empty

We've now got our own bot-protected IRC channel on DALnet

The details are (for mIRC at least):
IRC Server: tiscali.uk.eu.dal.net
Port(s): 6666-6669,7000-7002,7777,8000,8888

The channel is #dvf

Is there anyway I can link to the IRC channel directly from the DVF site, so you click on it and it opens in the client you use?

Using irc://tiscali.uk.eu.dal.net:6666/dvf seems to work with mIRC - don't know about any others.
(Only in IE though)
