I have always preferd the joypad for driving gamese had wheels for ps, I have had steering wheels for ps and saturn, and thought they were shit for them both. Unless you get one of the massively expensive ones (ferrari emblem, leather wheel) I dont think it would be worth it.
Of course you may find its a lot easier with a wheel, but in my experience I find them a waste of $$$
