s-video

does anyone else out there use a S-Video connection and optical out to connect their x-box to tv and 5.1 amp? if so are you getting the same fault as me.... i.e when i first switch my xbox on it takes about 20minutes for the full colour to be shown? my DVD player which i use S-video on too is fine... instant glorious colour

Well, I use the advanced cable and optical outs due to the fact that I believe my older Sony TV wasnt/isnt compatable with the xbox, it seems to only like RGB input, the screen colours go all purple n stuff otherwise.

Its a wierd problem but I believe mine is down to the age of the TV.

Is you TV a sony, I remember reading somewhere that they struggle with xbox connectivity (the older ones) :shrug:

I use the joytech lead with the optical and s-vid connected to my AV amp with no problems at all. In fact if I connect the S-vid direct to the telly I get no probs either.
