I had a couple of hours free last night, and *think* I know how to set up an online Championship Manager game.

I've got it working across the LAN, and also know which ports, etc need to be setup to enable internet play.

I will edit this post to confirm info like how to join and the IP address you need closer to the time, but for now I just want to know if anyone else is interested.

If a few of us are up for it and we can get it working then maybe we could start an on-line competition; but for starters let's see if we can get a few of us online at the same time.

Provisional info:
*) This Sunday (Feb 1st) - 3pm
*) IP Address TBC

Before trying to connect you will need:
*) A copy of CM 03/04 (standard, unmodified database).
*) The latest patch (v 4.1.4) - see the link in Mackey's post below.

Please let me know if you are (a) interested and (b) around on Sunday at 3pm for a test.

If there's any interest I'll setup a server and be on MSN around then.

also i think it keeps things simple if every one has the standard data base i.e not edited or updated not sure about that though

Looks like it may be best to postpone this then, until we get a couple more people interested.

I've had a look into it some more, and it looks like you can do some quite neat things (e.g. run a World Cup competition with multiple managers, etc).

So if we get a couple of people who are up for it, I'm quite happy to try hosting it and see how it goes.

ok but i think it's just down to you all being scared of my CM skills

btw found this site www.sortitoutsi.net has some good skins and the superpack thingy which has grounds and clubs logos (big download but worth it IMO)
