ah I remember now, thats a quality level - I threw stones a lot and just laid down in corridors and waited (a bit of cheat , but walking around is suicide in there).

Had this game ages but never played it past the first level...

Picked it up again recently while I've had some spare time and I can't believe how great it is. Just got past the bit after the lighthouse where you rescue Val. Making my fingers VERY itchy for HL2...

yeah I played demo of that and apparently it's nearly up there with Doom III plus also some of Halo 2 is stunning. I'm sure if developers pull their finger out then there is no reason why Doom 3 and Far Cry cant be slightly modified for xbox without any noticeable graphical difference unless you are really looking for it!

The XBOX doesnt do AA or AF, how can doom3 possibly "not look any different unless you are looking".

Freedom Fighters is a prime example of how a game can be made to look terrible by jaggies.

I still reckon Soul Calibur 2 is the best example of graphics on the XBOX, I reckon thats pretty much the best it can do (though its ahell of a lot better looking than the gc / ps2).

XBOX is 4 year old technology now. Doom3 cuts the edge quite badly - even my card cant run it as intended (Ultra).

all I'm saying is (and I havent seen Doom 3!) is that I HEARD that Riddick looks virtually as good as Doom 3. Yeah they may have to compromise certain things but developers find ways round problems! I actually thought Soul Calibur 2 looked a bit crap? it hardly looked any better than the first one on dreamcast! yeah it looked well better than gc and ps2 but then xbox games always do, it doesnt look a patch on Riddick, Halo 2, Project Gotham 2. and I mean it's not even in same league!
