ooh, just been put onto the xbox newsies too. Still waiting for the pc version. I cant wait till monday to buy the thing. Going to be a bit of an expensive day, seen as its released with the star wars box sets. |

I've played a sizeable portion of this game now and heres my 5 point review. 1. Performance is SHIT - on a par to halo - come on the pc can do way more than this, why oh why do they create XBOX first then port to pc? Everything seems limited. Geforce 6800 GT to ULTRA gets around 40 fps at auto-detect settings and EAX has a 25% hit at least. Also makes my processor hit 65 degrees (with thermalright cooling) - 24 hours of constant seti / Sisoft sandra doesnt ever go over 50 degrees. 2. Sounds nice looks ok. 3. Playability is strangely quite compelling, although you are aware that it is quite poorly implemented and it feels like a really poor game at times (Hitboxes are non existant, a shot to the foot == a shot to the head). 4. Good Online apparently, but again, nothing compared to real games such as farcry, counterstrike, Call of Duty, BF1942 etc etc. 5. In a nutshell, fun because its star wars - flawed because its another port from xbox (a'la halo). Will I continue to play it? Bearing in mind I have the new Call Of Duty expansion - a big NO. Overall 6/10 - but with all these type of games a few patches may sort it out. |
