Is it me or do you have to be really close to someone to be able to kill them with a sniper rifle?

Instance: Lastnignt I had Woz in my target for 1-2 mins, I was sitting in the craine, he was at a base (quite far away) hiding by a crate, I must of let 3 complete rounds off at him, and didnt hit him once, what gives?

This was/is one of the fav things I liked about BFV, 1-2 shots and your dead, the stealthy moves to get into good positions etc.

I really hope its not changed and that its one a bug on the demo, cus it will really put a downer on the game for me.

That said it was ace lastnight, KJ is well funny at flying.

Whats that supposed to mean
I am like a fully qualified pilot now... although sometimes in planes i tend not to notice trees until it is too late :/

hahah - flying is ace, but i am finding that i spent most of my time whizzing around, rather than capturing waypoints.
I do believe that i am a king of flying Choppers now

as for sniping, yeah i find that too - tax has a habit of sniping at spawn points, last night i spotted him and must have fired nearly all my ammo, trying different heights to allow for gravity etc.. eventually i did kill him, but thats only cos he couldnt see me - Bring on the AWP's from CS:S

I've read a few posts about this.
One of them said that you no longer have the laser accurate rifles like in CS. Apparently you have to allow for bullet drop over longer distances.
I think it's a good thing - on maps as big as they are a sniper is extremely hard to spot.

It's fun to find one crouched in the grass and then cap them in the head from short range though

it's infuriating sniping but it's possible, at the distances you are talking about, I don't think you are giving a one shot kill, as after ages of trying to kill someone I got a damage assist bonus as someone else got him, so i must have been definately hitting him.

Saying that I had a spell of hiding on the hill facing the Arab's main base (the hill across the water) and was having one shot kills, so shooting down on the target seems to make it wasier at long range.

Hmm, perhaps they are allowing for the gravity aspect of bullets , Ill have a single player sesh later and try different aiming points etc.
