Post subject: | streaming HDTV |
ive recently installed windows media center and setup a 54mbs wireless G network at home in the hope that i could stream wirelessly to my xbox 360 HDTV movies/shows.......... however i have no chance, because in actual fact wireless G on paper states it will run 54mbs it actually max's out at about 22mbs.... and the bandwidth required for HDTV is approx 29mbs for smooth viewing. Has anyone out there got any help or suggestions before i rip my house apart and hard wire the xbox to the router? cheers Paul - []DAU[]_ |

Wireless 'G' networks have not been ratified as a standard yet. You will only achieve maxium transfer speeds if the router and wireless card are from the same vendor and then 54Mbs is not very likely. Don't know what wireless adapter is installed in the 360 but doubt it supports G at full speed. I would bite the bullet and run a cable. |
