7/12/06 = Red Orchestra comes out and De-G@vnor gets to play with a lot of people he hasn’t seen in a bit.

8/12/06 = at lest 1/2 of the European players have gone and most of DVF.

Steam giving a free demo at the same time as the only mage console release this year. nice timing

Zangypop - what the fuck are you talking about?

G@v...WW2...multiple classes....is this a Wolf ET in new clothes?
If it is, then I'm going to be a very happy bunny.

Edit: Ha - you're a walking talking email addy, G@v.

I much prefer it to Wolf ET - but that was a little quakey for me. Its similar, with its demolition guys etc and strict control of classes.

For example, you can't just get in a tank and drive off, you need Tank Crewmen to fire the weapon / cannon.

Engineers for explosive charges to blow barbed wire etc.

In fact, yeah it is like Wolf ET - only rock hard (no crosshairs, just ironsights etc etc etc)

Scoring is done on captures also, you get sod all for kills etc - the idea is to fling yourself at the enemy time after mad charge after charge - get into the capture zone and hold it then move on. Nearly every map has this exact premise apart from 1 that I've seen.

You're right - it's excellent!

Very hard to get used to not having cross hairs, but the guns actually kill people, and the grenades behave like grenades (which is something that's always pissed me off with certain other games).

Do you know of any good servers? It looks like I'll be making a purchase...

Bought it!

YEEEAAAH

Woz, Im not taking the piss mate, but download the "My Media" Infanty training video. Theres so many little touches explained in that , that you just dont pick up on.

I play on SplatClan's server, as its usually got pretty wicked team play on late evenings or weekend afternoons.

85.236.100.42:7757

I've not even gone to another server since I found it, so if you find another real good teamplay server then let us know.

I absolutely hate this "newbie" crap you always get from L33t gamers, but I have found that it is very easy to spot servers with new players all over the place. The best servers tend to be the ones ran by multigame clans, and they kind of take you under their wing. "In a beasting kind of way, anyway."

Glad you bought it mate - now join the drive to get people to try it. THe bugger is it's so hard to get into (for me anyway, took maybe 2 hours before I loved it for the rock hard beast it is).

Oh, I can't play it - the complete inability to aim without bringing the gun up is a radical departure from most FPS I've played.
But to be able to chuck a grenade over a wall where I know there are a few enemy and then see them ALL die a few seconds later is really gratifying!

I'll be on that server tonight...

Downloaded it last night, came on for a bash. Will take a while to get used to the maps, but it looks a real good teamplay game. there was a guy directing us round last night for the map I played. Enjoyed it immensely. Need to get my mic up and running for tonight, if you fancy a game.

I'm slowly getting the hang of the maps but it's a really tough game.

For some reason I can't always pick up guns that I see, and it's a real pain because I REALLY need pistols at this stage - I can't hit shit when I'm in a hurry with the rifles!

For fear of sounding all "high and mighty" - which is not meant - I don't think many can.

None of this firing from the hip stuff, unless you are dead anyway. Just shoot loads and assume you will miss !

And I don't know Woz, you were doing pretty good when I was last on with you. Even if you were on your own rambo style a lot.

See you tonight I hope :P

I was alone because I don't know the maps!
You feel right out in the wilds at first - not knowing how the game works, and not even being able to find your way around either!
I would be happier if all classes got a pistol though - those rifles suck.

G@v, I'm around but I feel like utter shit!
Having 4 wisdom teeth removed will do that for you :(

I also look quite a lot like Marlon Brando in The Godfather because of how much my jaw's swollen up.

It's possible I'll be on later, but don't count on it...
