In theory, yes, but in my case I'd imagine they'd just get clogged up with 4 times as much flesh.Woz wrote:Do they last four times as long?

Someone bought me one of those 5 blade Gillette fusions. They're rubbish. The five blades are so close together it just glides over the chin stubble occasionally lopping off a hair or two that are thin enough to get between the blades. The thing has a separate single blade called a "precision trimmer" on it's top edge because the head is so massive with its"lubrastrip" and huge "Flexible comfort guard" it's impossible to shave close to your nose. The heads are also ridiculously expensive. I'm now using my good old reliable Mach Turbo again.

LOL me too,Woz wrote:Well, I've reached the age of 38 and I STILL have a gap between the 'goatee' section and the 'chops' section if I try to grow a full beard.
I don't understand it at all. It's not like I'm not a god damned sexual Tyrannosaurus.
Can grow a goatee no problem, but the hair on the side of my face grows all over the shop!
Cant grow side burns that well either, FFS!!!!!
Actually, I have a goatee at the moment (bit of a change)
I use a Gillette Mac 3, always have, I find one blade lasts around 8-10 days before it starts to pull hairs out.

God, mine last about 2 shaves before they're blunt as hell. My hair grows very fast though!

Theres some one in work like that. He found that the old razor bladeswas better for his face and left a nicer cut which lasted longer.

I highly recommend the old style single blade safety razors. I used to hate shaving because I always got razor burn on the neck when using the modern cartridge style razors. The problem completely disappeared when I switched to a safety razor (Merkur Futur) and another plus is that the replacement blades only cost about 10p each.

I actually own one of these : http://www.geocities.com/RodeoDrive/3696/Intros02.html

complete with original leather case, stropping compound and spare blade.
I've never had the balls to use it properly, but maybe it's time to give it another go.

Bah, I start a nothing topic and now it's going to cost me 60 quid.
I'm going to go and buy an old style razor tomorrow and brush and some fantastic sounding Geo F Trumper shaving soap in a Wooden Shave Bowl.
I'll report back. If you don't hear from me, Spook has caused my untimely demise from an accidentally slit throat.
