Counter-stike: source beta
O and if your wondering how to get a console down heres how :
Go into options > Keyboard >Advanced > and then tick the player console box > apply > ok
CS:S is ace and bad :
ok the grafics and intereactive enviorment are briliant :
Not only do the barrles more when shot but you can push em along and they will still have bullets in em
grenades indeed do make ppl fly
when you drop a gun dust flys up around it
when you shoot a gun on the floor in spins
the weapon modles took TERRIBLE:
the awp in now deformed into having a giant scope
the scout it also deformed but the main gun have been extended and the scope is tiny
m4 just looks like a stick with a fat cilinder and a barrel
ak looks ok i guess but the cz model is better
pistols are fine
Gameplay wise :
i aint oo fond of the recoil atm but i'm sure i'll get used too it
they have got rid of this red dot sniping thing and put a simple crosshair
the way recoil seems to work now :
well for a start with ak you get a normal cross hair ,then when you fire it jumps a bit wider then if you stop firing it will jump back ,this is not 1 movment
this changes the recoil completly ,yet when i did a full spray into a wall every bullet seem too be on target nearly

Well, here's some feedback from a quick bash:
First of all, regardless of what Valve say, you will need a very good machine to make this playable and including the eye-candy.
I'm running on my laptop P4 2.0 Ghz, GeForce 4200 (64Mb)
(not great, but well within specs listed)
I have to turn EVERYTHING down to minimum settings to get playable FPS (40ish).
- I'll probably play with this more later to see if I can improve things a bit and make it look a little better.
So I'm running on 640x800 res, with minimal settings.
The game looks OK and the physics are quite impressive (rolling barrels, smahing glass, etc).
I've only played de_dust so far and it's pretty neat, although with all the settings turned right back it's not really that awe-inspiring.
I personally fear a big backlash against Valve from all the people who play CS 1.6 on machines that are not cutting-edge as they are going to really struggle with the new engine.
But you guys with decent rigs will probably love it.
BTW
There's a bug, which I've reported - CS Source does not remember certain gfx settings (such as Model Detail and Shadow Detail) - these get reset to HIGH every time you restart.

Blade, I agree. The grenades are slightly less mobile now. Perhaps that makes them a bit more realistic, rather than have them bounce miles when you throw them off a wall.
aZZ mentioned he might be getting hold of a server tonight. Pop into #gf5 later on this evening (9pm+) and we will see what happens.
Don't annoy us though. Or we'll pwn j00z.
Urby - There is definately a LOT less "splash" from the grens from what I could see.
