ive noticed on different servers wierd things have been happening it used to happen to me on -=dvf=- server aswell (but not anymore)
the problem is that when i go onto the buy menu, the screen freezes and u cant do anything and u can only talk to the others after someone has killed you. this also only happens on one of the two teams (ct+t)
as i said it used to happen to me on dvf server but not anymore because i reinstaled the whole game. but now its started on different servers
There was a spectator bug in the very early beta that would do that.
Did you have the beta? If so, you will notice you have two Cstrike folders, one for the hl2 beta and one for retail - get rid of all the beta files.
The lockup is usually because one of your weapon models is corrupt - the steam verification tool will solve that one.
