BTW - this is now confirmed - one of the guys I will be guilded with works for Gamestation in Telford and says they aren't getting any more copies.Optimus_Prime wrote:It might be a little harder to get now. there is a rumor that the big uk retailers are holding it off shelves now until the server issues are resolved (the queues for the most popular ones)

Yep, it's ace. I've been playing all weekend as a Gnomish Mage. Level 10 at the moment I think, not sure which server though! I didn't notice that bit.
It's not easy as a mage actually, I've been dying quite a bit. Some of the quests involve walking HUGE distances too, but the scenery is so fantastic I don't mind!

Oh, well maybe I was just lucky then. What do you mean the most popular servers? I just accepted the server the game chose for me. Was that a mistake? It might be a little harder to get now. there is a rumor that the big uk retailers are holding it off shelves now until the server issues are resolved (the queues for the most popular ones)

Nope - in fact last night even the most busiest servers were only a 15-20 minute wait.
The server I started on was Low useage when I started and has now become High Useage and I still don't have to wait to get on.

I know at peak Daggerspine was 5-10 minute wait last night, although I must have logged on 3 times with no wait but others had to wait several times
If anyone is on daggerspine, give me a yell - got an alliance guild in the works but short of a couple of people.

I'm also a level 14 Warrior, level 10 Druid, level 25 Warlock and a level 9 Pally on another server.
And PvP is certainly my bag as well. Nothing like killing a higher level Warrior with my Void Walker and Fear

I wouldn't want to roll a new character in your situation either.DE-G@vnor wrote:theres no way in hell I am rolling a new character, just done too much, level 37, 280 herbalism 225 alc 225 cooking 175 first aid 225 fishing.

I have a theory that Blizzard will allow character transfers at some point in the future, happened in SWG and Eq2

Yeah, I hoped for the same - I had a character on the US Server and they kind of hinted that they would allow this - but I got a email from a blizzard rep that said it was just not possible to do so - not due to technical issues but because of the way people are allocated to servers.Optimus_Prime wrote: I have a theory that Blizzard will allow character transfers at some point in the future, happened in SWG and Eq2
He stated (thundgot or something he was called) that the reasoning behind this was that they need to balance the servers and if they allowed transfers (it was trialled in US Beta) then what happens is the entire population of Dark Ages of camelot all want to transfer in order to be on the same server as their mates.
Cruel, but a valid arguement. I tried to avoid the Dark Ages of Camelot server, but by pure chance I have ended up on the server that has all the "uber guilds" from DAOC on it - Bladefist :/ at peak times its a 20 minute wait too - though this hasnt been as much of a problem recently. I heard a rumour that Blizzard were offering a free 20 levels to anyone who moved from bladefist to the new one - evidence suggests that this has actually happened too.
Ah well, at least Nolby Pride arent on.

A fair few people I know went on Warsong, which has a few of the SWG uber guilds on it
I just went on the server that people I knew were playing on, ended up with 6 of us who have played together from SWG through Eq2 and onto WoW.
If anyone does create an alliance character on daggerspine, don't hesitate to give me a pm.

Is it just me or do you feel really cheesy having to think up a name for your RPG character - I settled on 'Greenhearth' (it was either that or Purplefireplace
) which still made feel like a bit of a twit. Is there a skill to this or do you just hit randomise and hope it's a good 'un....
