Thats cos I think people were hinting that perhaps he should visit one of the hundreds of news websites around....
Oh....and you're lucky the government pays anything towards tuition...
Labour are the only ones who know how to run the economy...under any other party you would have ended up with high inflation, huge job losses, high inflation all costing a lot more than any tax rises to date
The avalanche has started; it's too late for the pebbles to vote
This way we can all keep jobs and pay taxes so more foreign people can come and be arseholes in our country.dysfunction wrote:masseymo wrote:lolno one has answered the question

Well that may be but it doesn't change the fact that a foreign taxi driver intentionally drove off with my girlfriend's handbag last night OR that my cousin as attacked from behind by three foreign youths who kicked him unconscious and tried to steal his wallet and phone. They were caught and fined £50 and given a few hours community service. I wonder what would happen if me and 2 white guys jumped an immigrant in the street. All of a sudden that's a racial attack and prison looms...dysfunction wrote:I'm a foreigner and I contribute to this country 1000's of more times than a lot of the lazy locals ever do...
Before you label me as racist I am also sick of chavs who prefer to leech of society than do any work. I just don't see why we have to accomodate thousands more immigrants than other European countries, particularly when half of the time they refuse to even learn the language - I work in car insurance and get called all the time by people who have lived here for decades and can barely string a sentence together and somehow that is my fault.

Labour and Conservatives both know how to run the economy. The others don't though.Labour are the only ones who know how to run the economy

You are probably right. I didn't mean any offence. The taxi thing happened last night and I'm still wound up.dysfunction wrote:You're first sentance in second paragraph is exactly my point...
I can see your point and you've had bad experiences with immigrants...but really those types are actually in the minority...

We work the longest hours in Eastern Europe, have less public holidays and also have the largest tax burden for the 5k-30k barrier.

We have to accomodate thousands more immigrants than other european countries is in itself a complete crock.Colony wrote: I just don't see why we have to accomodate thousands more immigrants than other European countries,
1. We take less immigrants than france. France is now 35% foreign.
2. We START WARS as "PEACE KEEPERS" and drop over 40 million leaflets telling people that the UN is helping and to seek refuge in our country. These people travel on foot and arrive years later to ignorant citizens who tag the societies problems on them. Not too much different than the nazi's to be horribly honest.
3. In iraq we also airdropped millions of the same - so in 3-5 years you can expect large numbers of Iraq refugees.
Recent Red cross studies have shown that it took the average FULL FAMILY (all generations) over 3 years of travelling to reach France (not us) with the average family of 12 members losing 3 on the way (that means having to leave your gran to die if she twists her ankle etc etc).
So what happens is , we go into a war to help with the publics full support - the "persecuted" are offered refuge and take it ONLY because they have no option. - They travel for 3-4 years - a new government comes in , the war is forgotten in the news - the refugees start arriving and we turn them away to die.... Nice.
The majority of refugees that you seem to be talking about are Albanians from the Kosovo / Serbia. If you lived just 10 minutes of their life coming over here you would soon change your tone.
Comments like this really appall me. If you were in a war zone that was "liberated / pacified" by the UK / US - who effectively levelled your home town , but offered you safety in their own country, then you would be on completely the opposite side of the fence.
Its one world , and every life (IMO) is equal.
You need to look MUCH deeper into the social / political and economic factors that make the groups of people you seem glad to pidgeon hole (such as chavs) what they are.
IMO (only my opinion) a lot of the problems of today can be attributed to an errosion of civil rights, an increase in corporate bias at the cost of employment regulations and an ever growing increase in the gap between the rich and poor.
I blame the "Chav" revolution on Thatcher myself - for cashing in on most of our industry and labour type businesses by selling / privatising or selling to foreign supply - leaving the manual worker in the coal village for example completely fooked - with no way of recovering.

I don't think thats fair - I think that free education is the staple of a good society. Rather than fund BP or Esso the ONE HUNDRED PERCENT Tax break they get from us - we could pay for our education infrastructure 10 times over.sm wrote: You go to uni?![]()
The fact is that the UK/US seem to want to run their countries like 1 big business, putting economic growth before all.
Its just my opinion, but I feel that the "growth strategy" for both business and a national economy is a crock of shit thats unsustainable, sure it works in business in the SHORT TERM - but ultimately it results in buy outs or folds.
Whats the point in being one of the richest countries in the world if the wealth is held by 2% and an average MIDDLE CLASS family needs both parents to work, own seperate cars and pay for childcare in order to survive? Add on top of that increased taxation on these classes in order to appease big business - costs for education and a complete disregard for family values and its no wonder we have an underclass.
Im sure Worm or Woz (not singling you out btw , just you are 2 parents that come to mind) can give testimony to how a household realistically needs to earn in excess of 45k a year to keep a family. This is just totally unacceptable - how is a family in a "poor" area with manual work at minimum wage pulling in 20k between 2 people AT BEST - supposed to not become woefully uneducated, socially frustrated and turn to crime?
A lot say that you cant make excuses for this, but I tell you one thing, if I was on 10k a year (a chav, if u want to be brutally honest - as its just another example of the british class society) and saw the media turn against me for being a worthless scab, Id be an angry chava too.
The sad thing is that the majority of people dont think like this - they still have the infant mentality of "Me me me" if its not in my benefit then its a bad thing. Let anyone worse off than me sort themselves out "I did" type mentality. grrr ROAR
