At home I cannot view an interactive map on the RAC route planner site, however using exactly the same version of XP (corperate inc SP2) I can view it at work no problems.

delete all your java runtimes - including the Microsoft VM from Add remove programs.
Go into Tools--> Internet Options --> temporary internet files --> Settings and delete any Java runtime plug ins.
Re-load the site and it should automatically deploy the correct version of Java.
Alternatively, if the above doesnt work, it may be a security setting on your home pc - or a problem with your ISP's cache.
To override this just bang the RAC site into your trusted zone in security in internet options.
