Where IS everyone?

It's late on a saturay night! I'm extremely drunk and the local chippy has just given me MOUNTIANS of free food because I look 'hispanic'.

I'm drunk and ready to go but there's no-one in the BF2 OR CS server!!

We're all getting annoyed at how revered Pink Floyd are, when in fact they are boring shit prog rock dullards who don't know when to stop a tune.

Robbie was good though, as were Green Day.

Mrs Woz said that they were boring and went to bed!

Macca was good though.

I thought the Floyd were great and I would of been happy to just listen the them for the rest of the night. I was a bit disappointed they didn't do Another brick in the wall (To obvious?) or one of the Roger Waters tracks from his Amused to death album (this was plainly imposable but I can dream). Anyway it was quite a thing to see David Gilmour, Nick Mason Richard Wright, and Roger Waters on the same stage after the back biting of the past years since they last all played together. And it was nice that it was mostly Roger that instigated the group hug at the end.

Robbie was good as well.

Similar feelings here about the Floyd, and this is from someone who was stood 10m back from the Gold Ticket area in Hyde Park last night :-)

They were good enough, and the crowd seemed to like them, but they didn't do much for me. Also by that point my legs were killing as I'd been on my feet for about 9 hours.

And Robbie was great - I've never really called myself a fan, but the way the crowd reacted to him was astonishing. The guy has a gift.

Biggest surprise for me was the Who. I have never really paid them much attention and I didn't know one of the songs they played but they were just brilliant.

Pink Floyd hadn't played together for 25 years before saturday, also Korn did a cover of that song tbh.

I didn't personally watch live8 as most of the "modern" bands are just non political rap ( i.e crap ) and apart from the few good bands the set sucked concert wise. But the support counts I suppose.

Also there was 150 tonnes of litter dropped in London IIRC.

Wrong concert, wrong century.
They weren't raising money this time, it was a political event, and hopefully one that will have long-term effect rather than a short term sticking plaster for current events.

I found myself feeling more and more angry to be associated with a society that takes interest payments from people who are dying, so I guess it did serve it's purpose for me at least.

An excellent concert, and hopefully a productive day. To see the original Pink Floyd (well, not original, but y'know) together was awesome, to see David Gilmour and Roger Waters sharing a square metre and sharing the Comfortably Numb lyrics (jointly credited to just those two, as they were) was truly special, even to a 21 year old who only discovered the band relatively recently. And The Who were awesome! Steve White did a fantastic job. That forty, or however many, minutes was a dream come true for lil' old me.
