Well I've done it woz.
Just ordered black Mod1 5 speaker setup with upgrade on the LCR channels and a XLS200. Managed to get the money together by selling all my old gadgets that I dont use on ebay. Didnt have to sell my B&W 601's or my CC6 or my old Yamaha Sub either.
The CC6 and the sub will go on ebay as soon as the new stuff arives
You should work of commission m8.
& yes I did really have that many unused gadgets floating round the house inc.
Nokia 6600
Nokia 7250
54g Dongle
B&O Beocom phone
USB2.0 Digital TV box
Pioneer DV656A
Sapphire all in wonder
Blutooth headset
Some old Modus speakers
MX700
Bluetooth Keyboard for 6600
So it didnt actually cost me anything. The GF says I'm like a heroin addict selling all worldly goods to get my next fix lol.

I just say it is about time I got rid of all my junk.

Not wall mounting them like you, just leaving them on the supplied stands for now as I'm thinking of moving soon. I do like the look of the HOSS stands tho'. But yeah should be (basically) setup within 2 weeks.
Cheers for replying to my pestering questions

No problem....
I think I mentioned before, but give them time to run in. Mine definitely are sounding better and better as I use them more.

How much is the CC6 going to go for?
I've been using a....LCR3? whatever the model down is, and the CC6 is a better match for my 603s.
All in prep for when I eventually set up the HT room in the garage...

They seem to be selling on ebay for about £70
*, however postage is going to be an issue as I dont have the box anymore. Fancy a trip to Nottingham?
Will probably be selling "collect only" with a £70 start or reserve already started preping the ebay stuff
Current setup:

*I'm really suprised at this. As you know it's a quality £250 speaker. I suspect that they sell for this due to the high postage people quote.

Hope your settling into your new house Woz. Looking at the DIY was making me feel more lazy in doing this place up.

Congrats Woz,
Got my Orbs yesterday (5 days after ordering) and get my XLS200 on weds I think. VERY pleased with the Orbs. My current Sub isnt quite as good as it needs to be (the bass is a bit 'soft' and needs to be more well defined and punchy)but the new one should fix that. Really suprised with the quality from such smal Sats.
Went for 5.1 with mod2 upgrades @ the front in gloss black. Did you have as much trouble as me getting the mod2s setup with speaker wire? I'm using QED original and it was a real pain in the arse to get both wires in the speaker terminal. Thinking about getting some QED silver Micro for the fronts now. I've also got my eyes on the HOSS stands, theyll probably be ordered by the end of the week.
Cheers again
V1$

I've gone with Gale XL198 (I think). It fits the clips perfectly.
I've become a bit of a wire skeptic to be honest.
There was so much debate around the wire issue that I decided to do some tests of my own.
I had some pretty nice bi-wire cable, QED I think, and so I tried comparing it with the Gale stuff with my B&W603s. Wired one speaker with the Gale and one with the Bi-Wire, and then pan between them. This was a test recommended by one of the audio guys in the office (we have a pretty snazzy audio lab here). I could hear no difference at all.
This was being driven by a NAD C370 amp, which is an awsome bit of kit.
In the end I decided to go with the Gale because it was more attractive than mains lead!
One thing to think about when considering spending a lot on cable is what sort of cable is used when the music is produced. Our lab (which uses studio standard kit) got a lot of their cable from places like VDC. If it's good enough for a studio, it really ought to be good enough for the home.
I'm
really keen to hear what you think about your new sub when it arrives. It's definitely on my wish-list.
(The people buying our house want to buy my A/V amp, so I'm also in the market for a new one of them!

There truely is nothing better than spending someone elses money, I'd be interested to know what you go for.
I know what you mean about the wire thing. When I bought my B&W's the dealer threw in a couple of meters of this wire that was about £15/m (not even biwire but thick as a babies arm). I think he thought I might come back and buy 30 odd meters for my HT setup and he was just desperate to shift it. TBH it was no different from £2-£5/m stuff.
Truth is I needed some new wire as mine would have been too thick, the QED was on offer so I bought that.
Where do u work BTW, in the Audio industry? For some reason I thought you were in IT.
Will let you know about the sub after it arrives and has had a bit to break in. Dont know how qualified I am to talk about it, but I think there are a couple of peeps over at the AVforums who have the same setup.

I use QED silver anniversary for my system, it seems to work really well, not the cheapest, you get what you pay for
Woz is the man to set you in the right direction for most HT stuff, he "MADE" me spend 2.5K on my HT system

(not including display)
Currently looking at Projectors, the mussis is gonna moan as she wants all the landscaping done, but she can wait !!!!

The QED Silver Micro is a finer guage than yours apart from that it's the same stuff (I think). I didnt buy it originally because, being silver, it can make a system sound a bit 'bright'. I thought I might have an issue with the Orbs being a little lively anyway so I went for the normal stuff. I only need a couple of meters so I might give it a go.
"MADE" you spend 2.5K LOL. I got given the task of buying my GF's dad his HT setup. Original budget 1.5K, scar on his AMEX 4K and that was with some major discounts. It's easily done.
Just spoke to BK electronics about the sub. They are waiting on drive units ATM. They were expecting them in yesterday but it now looks like the end of the week so no sub for me until friday or next week I guess

You're welcome whenever....bear in mind that the tree house hasn't been erected yet, so the usual location they leave their 'mark' isn't available.
Where is it?

What - the whole house move, or the room renovation?
