Ah.

Well, the speakers were about 500 quid.
The telly...1250.
Coving 90.
Lights (not delivered yet) about 100.
Chimney breast...I guess about 50.
Paint, around 100
Decorator (it was woodchip, and looked awful, so we needed a pro for this) 700.

I think that's about it. The rest of the hi fi gear I already had.

ooo not as much as I thought, unless the hifi equipment you already have is expensive. :)

Nah, the amp is 300 quid (but the people buying my old house are going to buy it off me, so that I can one that will drive the centre rear).
DVD player - 100 quid.
Sub was free from a mate, but I'm going to replace it with the one that VU's just bought...

Obviously, there's cable telly and TiVo in that cost as well.

Love the Avatar!

Some browsers can't handle the '%5C' in the image URL. Just copy and
paste the URL and replace the '%5C' with a '/' and they'll work fine.

I'm the IT manager for a (the) well known copy protection company.

They do audio copy protection, so there is a lab to test it out on.
You would not believe some of the kit they have in there.
For instance, they had the top of the range Linn DVD player - which retails at 6 grand!

(PS - don't hate me - I'm in IT, so I don't have anything to do with the product, it's just a job!)

Im sure we can find a reason ;)

Looks at the "DVF extensive list no.6 - Appendix 1: Reasons why we hate Bob" for ideas.

I personally hate him for giving good advice and making me spend money all the time, hes a bugger for that.

Nice of you to take the time to understand the joke, Pete. If you ever feel like dropping by again and failing to get the point in the future we would like to point you to this pamphlet "How to read a forum post thoroughly BEFORE replying.'

I might even be there...assuming that NTL don't cut me off!

Get this : I've brought my cable modem and telly box here to my new house, and it works fine on my old account. They use something similar to DHCP to register themselves and so long as you stay in the same area your account will follow you about. It's just like one big network, and the account is associated with the hardware, not the location.
So - I ring them up today to tell them that I've moved and that the kit is all working, I just need my phone moved.
Apparently they HAVE to cut off my working telly and cable and I then have to wait for an engineer for 3 days. Buch of fricking muppets.
