Google - is - shit!

have you tried to find anything obscure on there lately? I have been looking high and low for certain things, and all I get back is tons of pages refering me to portals which just do a further search to other portals, containing the same links :/ Is this the way google is going to go now, or is it websites just spamming tons of shit in the meta tags hoping to get a passthrough click? Either way I dont like it much.

I find it's so difficult to find information about something which shares the same name with something hugely popular. I had this happen to me not too long ago. Tbh I can't remember what I was looking for now

I find most of the mainstream search engines now default the first 20 entries to portals ... you should try Ask Jeeves if you want to see a really shite search engine.

i used to have about 5 / 6 extra search engines on the search results list before the results would appear, the sites were things like fastclick....quicksearch , that kind of crap - i fixed it by running ad aware and spybot, i just tried google and no crappo search sites came up for me, try the adaware solution and see what happens

A couple of year ago when you done a search saying "Why are you so shit?" Ask Jeeves would apologise to you and would then give you a link to a site to cheer you up. I'm guessing they use to get that search alot.

However it doesn't seem to work now, unless I've remembered the search string wrong.

You used to be able to ask "Is Jeeves Gay?" and it would link you to a site discussing What is gay and tell you that Jeeves isn't telling
