Love the original "Assault on Precint 13" - bit wary of a remake although it has a couple of good actors in it (Larry Fishbourne & Ethan Hawkes).
Hmmmm
- and this is gonna sound really stupid if you haven't seen it recently - but has anyone else noticed how disturbing the original Charlie in the Chocolate Factory is ?
The bit with the steamboat going through the dark tunnel and the 'subliminal' (kinda) images flashing up - iirc they show things like chickens heads being chopped off etc.
Saw it the other day and didnt remember noticing it before - a bit odd for something that's aimed at kids.

Return of the Pink Panther is one of my 10 top films of all time.
Steve Martin has made a grave error. Isn't Jackie Chan Kato, in this film?
I also loved the original Assault on Precinct 13 and don't understand why they have remade it

Out for a while now - I thought it was brilliant. Mind you - Pixar have never put a foot wrong, and have at least 2 of my top ten movies.
One to be scared of : They are making a movie of V for Vendetta...
A reason to be even more scared of it : it's being made by the Wazak...Wakows....w...the guys who made the Matrix. You know - one of them's a woman now apparently.
Second best comic book ever written, and it's being done by people who managed to destroy their own masterpiece with it's sequels.

Apart from it wasn't their own masterpiece, as the recent USA case proved. They nicked the story from someone who mailed it into them.

While the story was stolen, it was actually a pretty derivative one anyway - and the main reason for the humans being captive was shite.
I would say it's still 'their' masterpiece because of the stylised way it's filmed and the influence (unfortunately) it's had on just about every subsequent action movie.

Unfortunately, you are showing you didn't understand or follow the story or purpose of NEO. Don't feel bad because I didn't either.
The machines are created perfect and good and without evil (Animatrix), they notice man is evil and place him in the matrix until he can prove himself in the only way they know. By the willingness to destroy the many (logic) in order to save the one (love). (Reloaded).
When they do that then they know that man is no longer in need to be 'imprisoned'.

There's no way they'd made that up at the time they were making the first film!

I thought that - however according to the pro-film philosophers who narrate the Matrix Experience 10 DVD set, they point out the numerous references to NEO's ultimate sacrifice, they point to TRINITY's preordained death and all sorts of stuff.
Very interesting and made me hate the second film less, now just to hate the final film less and I will be complete.

war of the worlds, and fantastic four our the ones i wanna watch.
i thought the humans provided power cause we blocked out the sun, which after using all resources etc was the only source of power. animatrix didn't seem to suggest all that, but then again i've only seen it once and when it first came back so maybe i don't remember bits.
