Day Of Defeat: Source

Post by Rascal »

Anyone bothering with this? I got suckered by the pre-load discount, oooooh saved a whole quid and bought it. Didn't play much of the first one as I played an early Beta and got pissed off by keeping dying when jumping out of a plane on one of the levels so never bothered anymore after that.
looks a bit tasty accoding to gamespot

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/dayof ... 34306.html

so if anyone has it, then we should post up on this thread where people are playing.

I love DoD - in fact I am playing it as my number one FPS game right now. I hope they actually add something to the conversion unlike when they moves CS over and just made it the same game but with new improved bugs.

I did wonder about this. I might put a few groats up to get this as I did enjoy a few games of the original a few years back.

just got this today, love it to bits, have been playing 1.3 for a little bit and thought it made a nice change from cs, the source version is a bit simpler but just as fun and has all new tactics cos of rifle charge grenades and such.

DOD: Source is fantastic... nothing like being sent flying by a gren you didn't spot on the ground next to you :) or charging into action with a garand (Allies get an advantage with this one I think!). It's been eating into my gaming time quite a bit recently, let's just hope they wheel out some new maps soon though - more please!

What servers are people hanging around on? Been on the DA-UK quite a bit but I still haven't found a real fave. If anyone wants to choose I can pop along for a game sometime.

i havent quite decided if i prefer the kar9 or the grande in source, the kar will kill in one chest hit, the grande takes two but the grande has a much higher rate of fire and more shots in the clip.

Loving my stg and bar though

a quick comaprison question, has any one noted a big dioffrence between the supoprt classes?
The US bar has less shots but worse accuracy in my playing anyways, whilst the mp44 has more bullets and a easeir to control recoil. Espeically telling up close were the bar just seems to point in the air after 2 shots.

Having said that ive decided the grande is my favoured rifle until they sort the hit boxes out (my k98 despite being prone, despite being square over an enemys chest whilst they are stationary has either not done any damage or not killed the enemy.)
