Please for the love of god, tell me that no-one is encouraging children to use this site as a research tool?

Someone pointed me to it today and he WORKS by it! A quick look at 4 different areas and every "definition" is complete crap!

Normally, I would - but seriously, in my contract I have expressly been ordered never to object, correct, debate or otherwise be "confrontational" with my client.

Never bothered with the site. You could put some pretty funky stuff on though. Someone should make a DVF wiki.

Mate, really, I could not contribute to this as I think it's a terrible and irresponisible idea - especially as it's being pushed as an encylopedia, when it fact it's just a mish mash of community "opinions"

I think Wikipedia is really useful and I've not found any major errors with it yet, for the subjects I've looked up.

I honestly don't think it is.
I've used it, and not blindly, and it's generally been very helpful.

Let's face it, it just concentrated internet. And I've lived my life by the watered down version for the past...oh...12 years or more?
Whenever the Web bit was invented...I was on the internet about 3 or 4 years before that. Oh the good old days of uk.rec.cycling!

I really like Wiki and can't say I've ever found something terribly inaccurate. I also use it to with my daughter to get simple information for school projects. Again she has done well with the information given. Yes there may well be errors in some obscure subjects but on the whole I think it's as accurate, if not more so, as her encyclopedias.
