Awsome cover version

Straight Outta Compton (by N.W.A.) is brilliant!
Female vocalist (slightly fey and winsome) covers N.W.A song. Give it a listen.

EDIT: Just been listening to it a bit more and it's a great acoustic track, so simple but cool!

Being a massive fan of N.W.A back in the day I really didn't know whether to laugh or cry........ god I hope she doesn't do Express Yourself.

Nice voice though.

It was alright..

Personally I never really got in to early Gangster rap I always thought it was the downfall of the real Hip Hop culture so N.W.A's version has no special place in my B-Boy past. I was more east coast than west coast and was into the whole Hip Hop thing rather than just Rap. I used to DJ, breakdance/pop 'n lock and tag up inner city car parks all while carrying a very large getto blaster and a rolled up peice of lino.

Incidental I've been digging out my old Electro albums recently just to listen to some old school classics. Unfortunately I gave a few albums away about 10 years ago so I'm downloading the rest (some of them are worth quite a bit now.. bugger).... I did find thisthough!

BTW. does anyone have a full version of Ichiban Scratch by Chris "The Glove" Taylor that I could copy, I can't find it anywhere

They are listening to one of the Electro albums in Shaun of the Dead when their mate comes in an tells them to turn it down.

I'm with you on that though - I'm more east coast. I think it's a cultural thing as I don't 'get' the gangsta thing, but I love the Beastie Boys.

There's also a country and Western versions of Straight outta Compton and The Message, by a guy called Ricky Vee Valentine, as heard on

DJ Yoda - Lamacq Live - 3 - 230204 , although it could be a pisstake as the advertising jingle also included says he's released a 3 CD boxset of 'Ghetto Classics'

I got parts 1,2,3 off of http://www.boomselection.info/ but they are no longer there, so if you want 'em, PM me, Also includes Duelling Banjo's with DJ Yoda scracthing the responce , which is Bloody amazing. One of my Mates MP3's is also on that Boomselection site, the Alex h One.

And just because it's both Big and clever, Straight Outta Compton edited to just use the swearwords. http://www.ni9e.com/

Pagan, check out http://www.electroempire.com/f_index.htm you might get lucky on there, or someone may point you in't right direction.

went for 22 quid something, Thought it would go for more to be honest.

Just downloaded a nice ...garghh hate using this word 'oldschool' Hip-hop mix from this Japanese DJ which you and Woz and anyone else who likes their 'ip 'op might enjoy. Get it here,

http://www.ebonycuts.com/ - click on the needle, wait for the site to do it's snazzy stuff then click on special mixes on the left hand side, it's the Kiyoshi Urano one.

Bit discoey though so if that ain't your bag move on.

Very good - The other track on there reminds me of Brother's Gonna Work It Out album from The Chemical Brothers.
(I think that's the title - it's a mix album)
