Hoarde is like playing WoW with HARD mode turned on.
Some of the quests force you into enemy territory around level 20 ... this is alot harder if you are Hoarde.
I found walking through the Hoarde waving at everyone and dancing allowed me to live for a few extra minutes before someone attacked me.

If you mean is this a game that has quests to complete in a living world where a cohesive storyline is drawn throught the game.
Then Yes.

Had a fantastic time last night just exploring Stormwind. I'm lvl11 but started in the Gnome camp so hadn't got that far until then. I met a couple of other gnomish newbies and we raced round the city exploring and dancing, it was great.
I'm now doing all the low level human quests in that little village just outside the city. I still need to get the hang of the secondary professions, I seem to spend a lot of my time making charred wolf meat at the moment, which isn't very appetising.

Sorry mate, but i really cannot agree with that statement at all - in fact I'd say its vice versa.
U dont have to go to the eastern kingdoms (unless you are undead) people go there because its busier - barrens -Stonetalon Mountains, Ashenvale, Thousand Needles -Stonetalon mountains - desolace , will take you to 40 quite easily. Alliance also have to travel to Kalimor. These zones are busier because the pvp is better on our servers I think.
Horde outnumbers Alliance at least 2 to 1 on every server - as seasoned Dark Ages of Camelot players try to avoid the "Excalibur Albion" problem. This means a busier Auction House, a stronger economy and generally better defence.
Stranglethorn (the level 30-38 area) Horde outnumber Alliance AT LEAST 4 to 1.
I have played both horde to 40 (yup, im 40 now ) and alliance to 50 and alliance is by far the hardest faction to play.
Its not just quests you need to take into account, but how many of those quests are bugged - how many people you have to group with and what items you can get off the Auction House.
Maybe over time, the balance will come back - as more players new to MMORPG join.
But Alliance is definately way harder than horde, simply because horde is by far the most popular faction. With the exception of the paladin, the characters are weaker on Alliance too.
Orcs have far more strength than Humans
Shamans are far more effective in PvP than Warlocks.
I could go on, but will abstain

My tip is that secondary skills are tied in very closely to level, what i mean by that is that you cannot advance past certain skill points until you attain a certain level - eg cooking.
1st thing after 150 is that the book u need to learn higher will set you back 1g for the book and 40s for the travel to get it - thats prohibitive at any level lower than 20.
Then, to advance past 225 you need to be level 35 for some and 45 for others. During your levelling you will get meat drops that should take you to your limit before u attain the level needed to progress.
Fishing is the one I recommend, I just picked it up at level 30 and it was a bugger to level, had to go right back to the starter zone

Is the full name of this game "Rick Stein's World of Warcraft", or have I missed something here?

Food is an important part of the game and balancing loot vs. food is quite delicate I find.
Food increases your health out of combat quicker than sitting around doing nothing. Now you can buy your food, conjure your food (if your a mage) or cook your own food (secondary skill).
As I get to the higher levels I have started to realise how important food is to quickly getting back into the action.

Yes I have to say that I only started cooking because I liked the idea of it and it seemed more useful than mining to my mage. But I'm yet to really use it in battle - most of the time I just find a quiet corner and wait a bit while my health & mana regenerate. I'm sure this will change as I go up levels though.

i heard on the WoW forums that on some servers alliance is at a ratio of 4-1 compared to horde. that was about a week ago. surely it can't have changed that much?

I've just started a new char as an Alliance Elf Priest. Does anyone know if there's a priest trainer anywhere near the Elf start location? There seems to be everything (paladin, warrior, etc.) but priest. At least I can't find one.

Cooking gives you food that gives you buffs mate , but you need to sit and eat for at least 10 secs.
They can add INtellect +8 right up to Intellect +14 and others give Stamina + Spirit +.
On bladefist, according to wowcensus, horde outnumber alliance 3.7 to 1

How many players are on this game?
...at 8 quid a month?
Can we dedicate some of our server bandwidth to WoW? We'd be rich I tell ya!

I know its mental isnt it. What really frightens me is that there are at least 3 companies that hire people from very deprived areas to play the game 24/7 (on shifts) and sell in game items for REAL world cash.
Scary thing is, people pay.
For example, the last game like this I played - I maxxed out a character to the top level , quit the game and decided to chance my arm listing it on ebay with a starting price of 10 quid.
Got 250 quid offered within 1 day of listing it - to close the auction early!

Yeah it's crazy - search ebay for 'world of warcraft'!
£30 in real world cash for 100 gold!!
Bear in mind that in-game mounts (AFAIK the most expensive single items) cost 1000 gold!!

There was projected to be a maximum of 4,000 per server however apparently the servers are currently running at 10,000 people per server with no lag issues.
