Banned...

I was playing on the DVF server this afternoon, then the server crashed and now when I try to connect to the server it says "Banned for past cheating violations"... yet I dont even cheat and I can demo myself as much as you want to prove it! Speaking to Neuromancer, she said none of the admins that were on the server at the time had banned me, so is this a glitch, or has someone from outside banned me?

None of the admins who were on (Paul, Neuromancer or myself) banned you.

And there's no post on our private forum where we record banned players.

So I guess its something related to Steam.
Can you get on any other servers ?

Not really. CRO isn't VAC updated (using Cheating Death in preference) so it doesn't use the STEAM list.

....well if no-one was ever caught it'd be far more troubling as one would have to suspect that VAC isn't working!

Actually, it was my brother who had put a cheat on the system when steam was first brought out. He used it every now and then but he rarely played cs in the last few weeks. Our system got wiped a few days ago, yet I got banned yesterday :/ So either it had banned my CD key a few days back, but hadnt registered it or, my brother had put the hack back on the pc. Either way, theres nothing on my pc now and I can demo myself as many times as you want for all those who think I hack.
